Ye's has redeemed themselves from my last experience. Last night I ordered an extra large fried rice for delivery. By some weird circumstance, the order arrived within a half hour. Perhaps at that moment they had been slow and my order was literally made and ready for delivery in just minutes. Either way - this was very quick service. Secondly, I was only charged the normal $3.00 delivery charge. Last time, they tried to gouge me for $5.00. So this time it was back to the normal $3. Great service last night - also their main driver is very humorous! (chinese guy, maybe late 20's, blue sports car).

I had an entire review regarding how much I liked their food but it was apparently removed. My pet peeve is bad customer service, and again, delivery drivers should not be talking on cellphones when they deliver the food. So if you don't care about that, give them a try.

Egg drop soup is good, however I'm not a fan of their orange chicken, seems pretty dry. The fried rice is good as well, I usual get the pork flavor. It is kind of weird that the food is made behind closed doors and you can't see the kitchen at all though. Just leaves me wondering...

My favorite carryout Chinese food spot in the area. The best wonton soup I've ever tasted came from this little hole in the wall. Very satisfying on those cold days or when you've caught a cold. I have tried a majority of the items on their extensive menu and all tasted amazing, except for one.... The Mongolian Beef. I firmly believe that dish should be called the Mongolian Green Onion, because that's all I tasted... green onions. At work we all decided to skip the traditional Xmas dinner and got Ye's, where I ordered the Mongolian beef for the first time. The miniscule amount of meat and it's juice could not surpass the overwhelming green onion taste that punished my mouth with every bite. It even hurt to breathe while eating the green onion monster. I like green onion, but this one was just too much for me. Can you tell yet? To summarize : Wonton soup- to die for Pot stickers - awesome Singapore style noodles - my new favorite Triple delight - awesome Sweet chicken dishes (sweet & sour, orange, general tsao, etc.) - awesome, but couldn't finish it without worrying about slipping into a self-induced diabetic coma. Mongolian beef - you'll turn into a green onion. Forever. So will your breath. -Green Onion

Ye's Chinese is one of my favorite places to eat. We enjoy a variety of food that are on their menu. The smoothies are incredible because they have fresh fruit and are made in front of you so it's right out of the blender. We love how the egg foo young patties are huge and are a bit on the salty side but can be asked for less salt. When ordering, we were able to order food that doesn't contain gluten and was told there are no MSG in their food. They also have free coupons! I mean who doesn't love free food am I right? My aunt is completely obsessed with their spring rolls and egg rolls. The homemade sauce is delicious to dip them in, but you also have the choice to have sweet and sour packets. There are options of thick or thin noodles to choose from. Not only do they have great food, they have great customer service! I would recommend this place to everyone.

Good food! Nothing crazy amazing, but always consistent and meets the desire for some Chinese food! Large quantities, and decent prices.

The best fried rice I have ever had, I moved to Iowa and have yet to find anything close. I didn't like their orange chicken however.

After reading a number of good reviews, I ventured off the standard Chinese restaurant and decided to order takeout from Ye's last Saturday. Everyone else and their mother decided to order from here as well. Girl on the phone told me 15-20 minutes so I ordered, got dressed and headed over. I sat and waited....waited and waited. It was likely closer to 35 minutes when I received the meal. Not a huge deal, but certainly an annoyance. (When I arrived, they were telling people 40 minutes to pickup on the phone) The order was wonton soup, general tao's, sweet and sour chicken, beef lo mein, pork fried rice and crab rangoons to sample quite a few different things. Note: sweet and sour chicken was free with order. Look at their website. Wonton Soup was the highlight. It was flavorful and full of wontons. Definite good stuff. Crab Rangoon were more dough than stuffing. The stuffing was very muted and not great. General Tao's - too gingery for me. Beef Lo Mein - Not very flavorful Pork Fried Rice - Good offering - definite order again. Sweet and Sour Chicken - Flavor was fine, just not my personal favorite. Overall, I likely will not order from here again - maybe YMMV. The prices were lower than my normal place.

3.5 stars. Can't speak for their Americanized Chinese food since I've had none...I like the more authentic Cantonese style food they serve. I went in the first time to get an avocado smoothie based on some good reviews about their smoothies. I was a little reluctant to try the food because it's a small take-out place with no dining area located in a quiet suburban strip mall. After watching a guy behind the counter make the smoothie with care, I knew I would return for the food. So I did and will continue to do so. The black pepper beef was awesome. The $2 wonton soup was better than the $6 wonton soup I had in some fancy sit-down Chinese Japanese fusion restaurant nearby. Pot stickers were tasty but a little greasy. The salt and pepper tofu sounded promising but turned out pretty awful. The made-to-order fried minced pork dumplings (Ham Sui Gok) were quite authentic. I was told Shu Mai and Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow) are also made to order by a former dim sum chef working in their kitchen. Most customers don't know about these dim sum items or don't think about ordering them so they don't sell much. Expect a prep time of 20-25 minutes for these so call ahead. Ricky, the owner (I think?) will go above and beyond for his customers. If they don't do some "classic" Americanized Chinese food right as a few reviews pointed out, it's probably because that's not what they cooked in their past lives, or what they would normally cook for themselves.

Not good. Not at all. General Taos chicken is smothered in BBQ sauce. My husband couldn't finish a small portion. The shrimp and vegetables has a weird cream sauce with no flavor. Crab Rangoon - greasy and clumpy filling. Egg rolls- bland. We won't be back. Not worth the calories or the money.

The menu is full of options, choose wisely. If you go with the standards you will be sadly disappointed. General Tso's chicken, sweet and sour or anything like that is on par with every other Chinese place in the area. Nothing to write home about. The noodle dishes and Thai food are definitely where it's at here. The other hidden gem here is the fried rice. It's not flavorless brown fluff with bits of peas and other misc bits in it, it's actually pretty good on its own. I would recommend it if you're looking to try a new take-out place. Try something new and noodley and you will not regret it.

I probably eat here once per week. I usually get the Sesame Chicken, which I love. The dinner and lunch combos are a great deal, as they come with fried rice, egg rolls, and soup(dinner) or a drink (lunch). My fiance has had a number of different entrees and always enjoys them. The price is right, and the service is always very friendly. I've never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes for my order. This will always be my go to Chinese place in the area.

I am giving them 4 stars for their delicious fruit smoothies. I did not try their food. I drink a lot of Boba teas, so am very particular when it comes to Boba pearls. The Boba at Ye's was fresh, the texture was perfect. The smoothies were delicous. I ordered Thai iced tea, lychee, taro, and strawberry. I saw them making other smoothies, and they use fresh fruits when possible, such as for the strawberry, avocado, and watermelon smoothies.

Their Szechwan wings and hot and sour soup are really good. The noodle dishes are good as well. If you order online, you get free things with your order. The portions are larger than some places and the prices are good. The employees are kind and helpful.

fast service but I live right by the place, but the food itself is kinda meh, beef and brocolli is OK, general tso s chicken tastes super salty and the crab Rangoon's are OK and the sweet and sour shrimp is OK but its kinda hard to screw that up, delivery guy is always friendly though

Not too far from my place of work on Army Trail Road sits a place called Ye's Chinese Restaurant. Noticing that they were within a close enough distance to stop and retrieve food from at lunchtime, I decided it would be worth having a co-worker stop by here and pick up lunch. From Ye's I ordered General Tao's chicken. The chicken I received came with a thick lathered on sauce. Despite being listed as spicy on their menu there was very little kick to this chicken. The sauce included with it tasted more luck the soy sauce used for duck at other restaurants than the type of sauce used for any variation of a "General's" chicken. This wasn't necessarily a bad flavor, but it didn't match as well with the chicken as you might hope. The actual pieces of chicken varied a bit in quality from ones that were too cripsy or almost no breading. My chicken did come with fried rice, and the rice was definitely better than the chicken. It was brown fried rice with a variety of other things added, including apparently pieces of white meat chicken as well. If I were ever to order from Ye's again, I'd just do the rice and skip any sort of meat entree. While this isn't the best fried rice I've ever had it salvaged the meal so to speak from being awful to at least being filling. I also sampled some pot stickers here and found them to be strange in texture and not particularly tasty. My overall opinion of Ye's is that it's a good place for fried rice, but that I wouldn't want to gamble on ordering an entree here again. In general, if it comes up again I'm likely to "just say no to Ye's" (that pun would work better without the apostrophe). I'm going to give it two stars, while it's better than either nearby Twin or Stone Dragon, I still found it to be overall below average.

Ive ordered here before and liked it but after tonight I cannot recommend it. I ordered my food around 5 waited an hour for my food, and when it got here my drinks were not present. to add insult to injury it has been over an hour again and still no drinks, management does not want to take responsibility. So sad how good customer service isn't here.

I like Ye's and I think it's a nice little hole in the wall. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and there is no indoor seating. It's strictly a pickup/delivery store. That said, the food is pretty good. The chicken fried rice (which you can get for free if you order $25 or something) is pretty good. The mongolian beef lacks a little bit of the punch you expect, but it's still ok. The noodle dishes are good, we usually get one of them. They have a wide variety of appetizers too, including steamed rice buns. Veggie or bbq. YUM. They also have that botan rice candy in the store lol. I love eating that rice paper wrapper.

This has been my go to for Bubble Tea in my area. Been going here for about 4+ years just for Bubble Tea. They serve Chinese food as well, but I am not really a fan. I go strictly for my Bubble Tea Cravings. Food: I really don't enjoy ordering their food when there are better options in the area. They tend to put too much MSG or something in their food. My stomach usually doesn't agree with what they put in lol. Their Bubble Tea however hits the spot. It won't wow you or anything, but it is tasty enough with plenty of it per order. You see them slice up the fresh fruit which is always nice to see. They give you the option to mix and match ingredients which is another plus. The bald Chinese man tends to put more effort into making the Bubble tea so it tastes better. The other ladies tend to rush through it. Service: The counter ladies are always generally nice. Cute too if I may add. They always keep you updated on your food and are very polite. Atmosphere: Typical hole in the wall place. No dine in area, just a seating area. Clean place with a small TV and clean green walls. I enjoy going here for Bubble Tea in my area. I wish the food was better, but it is harder to come by a decent place with Bubble Tea in the suburbs.

I ordered online for pick-up on a weeknight. My wait time was 25 minutes. I used a coupon for free crab rangoon w/ a $10 purchase which is a great deal. Unfortunately, the rangoon didn't have any flavor. My vegetable main dish was fine; it consisted of mostly celery and onion. A wider variety of veggies would have been perfect because the sauce was tasty. The potstickers and sauce were very flavorful, but the potstickers suffered from condensation and were wet and mushy. Overall, it was just OK, and I'm not super excited for leftovers tomorrow. But I'll eat them.

I don't get all the bad reviews?! I just had this place's food for the first time and thought it was all really decent for the price! We got orange chicken, general tso chicken, cashew chicken, chicken fried rice, egg rolls, and chicken lo mein...the general tso chicken was a little on the salty side but everything else was good! especially the chicken fried rice. I didn't try the lo mein or cashew chicken but everyone agreed we all liked it. The owner/manager (not sure?) was very nice and let me use a coupon then told me to keep it to use again next time (I picked up so not sure how delivery is). I didn't even realize you could order online but will try that next time!

My husband and I love Chinese food and we've been looking for a good place around here for three years now. I am so glad we finally tried Ye's! They are carry out and delivery only, but I'm totally fine with that. We've had them twice so far, and we have no plans of ordering from anywhere else when we want Chinese food. Everything I've had from Ye's has been absolutely delicious! The smoothies are amazing, the food is top notch, and it's fast. I had an avacado smoothie that was better than any other I've tasted. The dishes I've had are salt and pepper tofu, shrimp fried rice, jalapenos chicken and shrimp fried rice, Singapore rice noodles, and crab rangoon. All of these dishes were delicious! The crab rangoons have just the perfect amount of filling and comes with a sweet dipping sauce. I've tried two other Chinese places in this area, and none can compare to Ye's. They are also very friendly over the phone and in person. So far we've had nothing but good things to say about Ye's! I've been telling everyone I know to give them a try.

They have Dim Sum available for delivery! Woo hoo! I was very happy to see this available on their online menu. We got shumai, ha gao, cha siu bao and some pot stickers. We were very happy to have this. My wife and daughter also commented that their orange chicken was the best that they ever had and they eat it a lot. I had Ricky's Special that was also very good. Now my belly is full and I may need a nap.

I just moved to the Carol Stream area a few weeks ago. My mom came by to visit and suggested we order Chinese. We are both avid Chinese food fans. If I could give this place zero stars I would. This food was absolutely disgusting. We didn't even finish our plates. The sweet and sour sauce that came with the egg rolls was a jello consistency. The sweet and sour chicken was just bad. The Mongolian beef had a thick solidified gravy. I will NEVER order from here again.

I love Chinese food, just not from YE. Pros: they deliver. They make their own red pepper hot sauce in the little cups. Also their fortune cookies are ok lol Cons: sweet sour chicken sauce has jello like texture and tastes from the store bought package. Mongolian beef (my fav dish) was lacking the heaping amounts of onion and green peppers. Just a very few small pieces. Was happy that instead they supplied more beef, but is had a cheaper more bland texture. Definitely do not recommend this place

Still searching for good Chinese in the Carol Stream area. Have ordered here around 3 times now and still am left searching for some good rangoon and any dish that I can count on as a reliable Chinese fall-back. The lo-mein was made of a white noodle in a clear/white sauce that caught me off guard in its appearance and its taste (neither good). The rangoon is mediocre at best. The triple delight (chicken, beef, shrimp) had one (its easy to count when there is just one in the whole order!) shrimp in it! The dish itself was OK but the ratio of the triple delight was lacking. It is quite convenient to order through their website. But, not so convenient we ever order from here again.

Best.WonTon.Soup.Ever! I haven't tried all the dishes, but pot stickers and egg rolls are very good. Love the beef fried rice, chicken and pea pods, sweet and sour chicken, and General Tao's. Wish the General Tao's was a bit more spicy, but it's still good. Every time I have chinese from somewhere else, I am disappointed. Ye's has always been good, and I've been a customer for years.

Ye's has been around for a very long time.. I work and live in the area so once in a while we order lunch or dinner from here.. The manager (or maybe owner? I guess I never really asked lol) is always very kind.. and he already knows my smoothie order when I walk in the door =) I really like the food here.. I mean, I don't really go out and try everything on their menu -- I go for the family staples: pan fried noodles, shrimp with lobster sauce, egg foo young, and combo fried rice.. I used to hate ordering food from here because I never liked the food.. then they changed ownership and I became a fan..

  • E K.

Can't say its the best chinse but it's decent (for carol stream) for the price and for the quick dinner mess free nites. I wouldn't eat this often but once in maybe 2 or 3 months will do. Some dish suggestions: Egg foo young, fried rices are good, beef with tomatos and pepper . Some dishes I didn't like orange chicken, chop suey, mongolian beef. So if your looking for something when your low on cash or just looking for mess free nites, give it a try.

Have been going to this place for about 3-4 years. The Lunch Special is what we get. Dinner from time to time. Sweet/Sour Chicken large cubes and quite tasty. I love egg foo young and all are worth the purchase. Fast and friendly service for take out.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
